When to get screened for Cervical Cancer

Years Old

You should start getting Pap Tests. This looks for precancers/cell changes of the cervix that might become cervical cancer.

21-29

Years Old

After getting your Pap test at the age of 21, your doctor may tell you that you can wait three years until your next Pap test if the results are normal.

30-65 Years Old

Talk to your doctor which testing options is right for you:

PAP TEST

if the results are normal, you ma retake after 3 years.

HPV TEST

if the results are normal, you may retake after 5 years.

This test looks fro the virus (human papillomavirus) that can cause these cell changes.

BOTH

if the results are normal, you may retake after 5 years.

>65

Years Old

You may not get screened anymore if you had normal screening results or you had your cervix removed.
